Greg Crawford On D-League Basketball

By Greg Crawford @wchoops   November 24th, 2012

OPENING NIGHT--- Easily the highlight of the season opening night of the 12th year of the D-League, was the great battle in Hildago, Texas, featuring the home court Rio Grande Valley Vipers taking on the visiting Bakersfield Jam.

It was a wild game, with not much defense, but some spectacular offense, led by some great dunks on both sides.

Despite a furious rally by the Vipers in the final three minutes, the Jam held on to win in the opener for both teams.

Renaldo Major, who hit several critical free throws in the fourth period, led the Jam in scoring with 20 points and also contributed six rebounds and three steals.

The Vipers were led on offense by Brian Butch who scored 14 points and just as importantly grabbed 15 rebounds.

Three games highlight the D-League schedule tonight.
